Tochi offers full architectural services for renovations, extensions and new homes in Melbourne.
We don’t just produce a design for your home; we coordinate the entire process including an initial feasibility analysis, consultation with engineers, planning and building permits, builder procurement and project site visits during construction until final completion of your home.
We integrate thermal performance modelling into our design process, and experience in the building industry means we understand construction practicalities and costs.
Note that we are currently not taking on any new architecture projects.

Our Process
Define
In this stage Tochi carries out a thorough exploration of the opportunities and constraints applying to your project with reference to your goals, budget and site conditions. We visit your home and carry out a site analysis, investigate planning requirements, determine what other consultants may be required, and assist you in developing your scope and your brief. We provide an outline of what goals are achievable with what budget. We provide a written and visual summary which will guide you on the next steps for your project.
Design
The design process happens over a number of stages beginning with a Concept Design and proceeding through to Design Development, Planning Permission, Detailed Interior Design, and Building Permit Documentation. It is normal for the design to evolve and change during this process, with lively discussions throughout. Tochi coordinates with other consultants, such as structural engineers at the appropriate stage as needed. By the end of the design process, you will have all the documentation you need to obtain a construction quote and to proceed with the building permit application.
Construction
Tochi can coordinate the process of procuring a builder, and can be available for site visits and advice throughout the construction of your home until final completion.
